The Tourtalk TT 40-AD24M is an audio description system comprising 1 transmitter with headband microphone (for the describer), 24 receivers with earphones (for the listeners) and a charger transport case.

An audio description system is used to describe an event to individuals (often blind or partially sighted). The system is perfect for the performing arts such as theatre or dance or at sporting events. The system can also be used for silent conferences or as a radio aid system to assist people that are hard-of-hearing.

The transmitter features an integrated microphone, microphone socket (to connect the headband microphone), and microphone mute switch. An aux-in socket to enable the connection of a smartphone is also provided.

The describer can whisper into the sensitive headband microphone so not to disturb people in the vicinity. The describer can add additional commentary of the production e.g. describing body language, expressions and movements. This gives the system users more information about the things they might not be able to see, enabling them to visualise the scene and keep up with the action.

The listeners wear the single earphone (leaving the other ear exposed so they can hear the dialogue/music/atmosphere), and simply adjust their volume to a comfortable level. The Tourtalk system can be used very discreetly without disturbing the surrounding seats.

Both the transmitter and receivers have been designed to be very easy to use. Each unit features a channel lock function, which stops the user accidentally changing the channel, and a lanyard so the user doesn’t have to constantly hold it during an event.

The charger transport case simultaneously recharges and stores up to 25 Tourtalk transmitter/receivers. The hard case provides protection during transit and storage, and is small enough to be carried as hand luggage for international travel. The detachable charger tray can either be used within the hard case or used as a desktop charger.

As the system is completely wireless, it can be operated indoors or outdoors and requires no installation.
